Depends on what is there from earlier, but generally it is worth it. Also important you can add wind block which normally is an issue in old homes.

The dew point will be in the wrong place if you do not move the vapor barrier inwards as well.

I still chose to do it this way since the electrical system no longer creates countless holes in the vapor barrier. From now on, putting a picture on the wall, will not make another one.

A slightly revised electrical system is also a bonus.
